Barrhaven Foot Care opened to the public September 6th, 2017. We noticed a large demand in a fast growing community and are proud to be the first and only full time podiatry clinic in Barrhaven. Understanding Barrhaven's needs with active children, growing families, and the aging population with retirement communities. We designed the clinic to provide services that meet their requirements.
All the staff are local residents and happy to be serving their own community. Thank you for welcoming us!

About Us:
Alex Whyte D.Ch., Dip.Ped., C.Ped(C), BKIN, Chiropodist
Raised in Ottawa, ON, Alex moved to Nova Scotia to attend Acadia University’s Kinesiology Program. During his time there, he was accepted into the Sports Injury Assessment and Management Program, which provided a robust academic foundation in injury assessment, management, and rehabilitation, complemented by extensive practical experience.
In his final two years at Acadia, Alex served as a student therapist for the Football and Men’s Varsity Hockey teams. Recognized as the Kinesiology Valedictorian upon completing his baccalaureate, Alex pursued further education at the University of Western Ontario. There, he excelled in obtaining a Diploma in Pedorthics with Distinction, earning Certified Pedorthist (Canada) credentials in 2011.
Active within the Pedorthic community, Alex held leadership roles on the Communication Committee and Social Media Committee of the Pedorthic Association of Canada from 2011 to 2013. Additionally, he served as the Pedorthist for the Halifax Rainmen Team in the National Basketball League of Canada during their 2013 season.
After two years as a Pedorthist in Halifax, Alex returned to school to deepen his expertise in foot care. He completed a comprehensive three-year education program in Toronto, culminating in a final placement at The Ottawa Hospital – Total Foot Care Clinic, where he specialized in diabetic wounds and foot ulcerations.
In June 2016, Alex successfully passed his Chiropody board exam and has since established his practice in Ottawa. His scope of practice encompasses a wide range of primary foot health services, with a particular focus on biomechanics (custom foot orthotics), ingrown toenail surgeries, and care for the diabetic population.

Julia White C.Ped (C), BSc Kin, Canadian Certified Pedorthist
JJulia is a Canadian Certified Pedorthist practicing in the Ottawa area since 2018. Originally from Nova Scotia, she grew up in the Annapolis Valley, where her involvement in competitive dance, cheerleading, and various sports ignited her passion for movement and well-being. After high school, she pursued her academic journey at St. Francis Xavier University, earning her Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics with a minor in Biology in 2016.
Driven by her desire to assist others in leading active, pain-free lives, Julia embarked on the diploma program in Pedorthics at Western University upon graduating. She completed the program with distinction, obtaining her certification as a Canadian Certified Pedorthist in December 2017.
Julia's professional focus centers on aiding individuals in overcoming both acute and chronic pain through a multifaceted approach. She utilizes custom orthotics, footwear solutions, lifestyle adjustments, targeted exercises, knee bracing, and other rehabilitative techniques to optimize her patients' well-being. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by those with knee pain and instability, Julia has developed expertise in fitting custom and off-the-shelf knee braces, facilitating improved mobility and comfort for her patients.
Beyond her career, Julia maintains an interest in health and fitness, often immersing herself in activities such as dance, walking, and hiking alongside her partner and their goldendoodle puppy. She cherishes opportunities to reconnect with her roots by visiting her family on the east coast whenever feasible.

Sandra Moreau, Registered Practical Nurse, Foot Care Nurse
Sandra has been working in the health care industry since 2015. While working in the community, she noticed many patients were not receiving proper foot care, and therefore were experiencing pain, discomfort, and other health serious conditions. Sandra knew in her early days as a caregiver that she wanted to become a nurse specialized in medical foot care and be part of the change in helping patients receive quality and professional foot care. Sandra pursued her studies in becoming a Registered Practical Nurse and completed her certification in Advanced Foot Care for Nurses. She is a member of The College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
Sandra is passionate about holistic wellness and providing her patients with compassionate care. Her nursing education and experience has provided her advanced knowledge and skills to provide her patients with a whole-patient centred approach. With her dedication, calm personality, and professionalism, Sandra ensures that her patients remain healthy and active, as she values patient education and preventive care strategies.

Her specialization in treating feet has been her focus since 2015, and she has become a trusted healthcare professional in the Ottawa area. Originally hailing from Saint John, New Brunswick, Holly completed her nursing training in the heart of Ottawa, where her passion for restoring patients to their optimal well-being was ignited.
Holly's dedication to her craft extends beyond the workplace. In her free time, she finds solace in nature and the great outdoors. Whether she's strolling through serene landscapes, nurturing vibrant gardens, or embarking on adventurous kayaking expeditions, Holly's enthusiasm for an active, healthy lifestyle shines through.

Natasha Przybyla CJS Dip, Office Manager, Certified Compression Fitter
Natasha was born and raised in the Ottawa area and is a mother of two daughters.
Upon graduation from high school she completed Bartending, became first year trained in the massage therapy program and then graduated as the Academic Achievement recipient of the Community and Justice Services Program all at Algonquin College.
Natasha worked her way through college in the medical field as a Secretary/Assistant within the Barrhaven Physiotherapy Clinic. For the past decade she served children and their families within the school system as an Educational Assistant.
In her free time, she enjoys a good workout at the gym, relaxing with a book, meditation and spending quality time with her kids and friends!
Driven back into the professional and positive atmosphere of a clinic she is ready to help and apply her creative, innovative ideas at BFC!
